Flying from Tokyo, Osaka and other cities
Students commonly fly from Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and other Japanese cities. A direct flight is often around 9 to 10 hours. Some routes have a stop, which adds time. Please check your own ticket for your schedule.
Japan stays on UTC+9 all year. Sydney is 1 hour ahead in Australian winter and 2 hours ahead in daylight saving time, which usually runs from October to April. The time difference is small, but a night flight can still be tiring.
Arriving at International Terminal T1
You land at T1, pass immigration, collect your bags and clear biosecurity. Please declare any food or plant items honestly, as Australian biosecurity rules are strict. This can add a little time.
We track your flight number. The driver meets you in the arrivals area, and the fixed fare does not change if the flight is late.
Exchange, language and degree students
Some students stay for a short exchange term and travel light. Others stay for years and carry more. Choose the vehicle that fits your true luggage. A Premium Sedan fits up to two large bags and one carry-on for one or two people. A Premium SUV such as a Kluger, Lexus RX, RAV4 or similar fits three large bags. A People Mover such as a Kia Carnival or similar fits four or more.

Family in Japan booking the ride
Parents can book from Japan. Add the student's flight number, arrival date and Sydney address. Then send the confirmation by email or message.
If a host family or friend will meet the student, share the arrival details with them, so everyone knows the plan.
Homestay, student housing and the first week
Some students live with a host family. Others take a room in student accommodation or a shared home. Put the exact street address in the booking. For a homestay, it helps to check the address with your host before you fly.
Arriving a few days before orientation week gives you time to rest, set up a phone and see the area.
Payment and the trip home
You pay online by card using the secure link we send by SMS and email. The fare is in Australian dollars, and your bank may convert it from yen.
At the end of the term, book from your Sydney address to T1. Add your flight time and choose a pickup with a comfortable margin.
