International flights are the trips where a taxi mistake costs the most. On departure you are carrying full-size bags, passports and a check-in deadline. On arrival you have often been travelling for a day, and you are facing a queue at the rank. Our Sydney Airport T1 International taxi service removes both problems: you book ahead, see one fixed fare in the calculator, and the price does not move with traffic, waiting time or the time of your flight. This page covers how T1 pickups and drop-offs work for international travellers. If you only need general airport information, see our main Sydney airport taxi page, and for domestic terminals use our T2 and T3 page.

International departures: getting to T1 with time to spare

International check-in typically needs more time than a domestic flight, so most travellers plan to arrive at the terminal well ahead of departure. Check your airline's recommended check-in time on your booking, then work backwards. Add the drive from your suburb, then a buffer for morning or afternoon traffic on the way in. We suggest booking your pickup time a little earlier than you think you need.

When you book, give us your exact street address, the number of passengers and your bags. International travellers usually carry a full-size suitcase each plus carry-on, so the form asks for large bags, carry-on and oversize items separately. If the load needs a bigger car, the vehicle steps up to a premium SUV or people mover, and the fixed fare shown reflects that before you confirm.

On the day, your driver collects you at your door and takes you to the T1 departures drop-off. Because the fare is fixed, you are not watching a meter tick over in traffic near the airport, and there is nothing to settle at the kerb.

International arrivals: from customs to your car

Landing at T1 is only the start. Passport control, baggage reclaim and customs can take a variable amount of time, and we do not pretend to know how long yours will take. That is why we track your flight number instead of relying on the scheduled landing time. If the aircraft lands early or late, your driver adjusts, and the fixed fare does not change.

Tell us your flight number and whether you have checked bags. If you are travelling with a family, mention the number of passengers and any prams or car-seat needs so dispatch can assign a suitable vehicle. Baby capsules and booster seats are provided free of charge when requested at booking.

After you clear customs, your driver meets you at the agreed arrivals pickup point and helps you get the bags to the car. The price you were quoted is the price you pay, including for a slow reclaim.

Luggage on international trips

Luggage is the most common reason a booking needs a bigger car. A couple with two large suitcases and two carry-ons can usually travel in a premium sedan or, where bags add up, a premium SUV. Larger groups, golf clubs, surfboards, prams or boxes are usually better in a people mover. Our vehicles are late-model Lexus or Toyota premium cars or similar, assigned by dispatch based on passengers, luggage and availability.

International and cruise trips have a stricter luggage assumption in our booking form because checked bags are close to universal. If you are travelling light, you can still declare that, but the form assumes at least one large bag and one carry-on per passenger for these trips so the vehicle is right the first time.

Meet and greet at arrivals (optional extra)

If you would like more help on arrival, add meet and greet for a flat +A$25. Your driver waits at arrivals with a name placard and helps with your luggage. It is optional, and it suits first-time visitors to Sydney, older travellers, and anyone landing with children. It is added on top of your fixed fare as a flat extra, so the increment is exact and you can see it before you pay.

Flight tracking, delays and changes

Flight delays are normal on long-haul routes. We track the flight number you give us, so a delayed landing does not mean a missed pickup. If your plans change, contact us as early as you can so we can adjust the booking. For departures, we recommend confirming your flight time the day before, since airlines sometimes retime services.

Frequently asked

The honest answers.

Do you serve both international departures and arrivals at T1?

Yes. We book fixed-fare trips to the T1 International Terminal for departures and pickups from T1 for arrivals, from any Sydney suburb we cover.

What if my international flight lands late?

We track the flight number you provide, so the driver adjusts to the actual landing time. Your fixed fare does not change because of a delay.

Can my driver meet me inside the terminal?

Meet and greet is an optional +A$25 extra. Your driver waits at arrivals with a name placard and helps with luggage. Without it, you are met at the agreed pickup point.

How much luggage can I bring?

That depends on the vehicle. A premium sedan suits one or two passengers with light-to-moderate bags, an SUV suits three or four passengers, and a people mover suits larger groups or extra items. Declare your bags at booking and the vehicle adjusts before you pay.

Is there a different fare for T1 and T2/T3?

Fares are calculated from your pickup address and vehicle size. Use the calculator on this page to see the exact fixed fare for your trip to or from T1.

Is this a silver service taxi for the international terminal?

No. We're Sydney Fixed Fare Taxi, an independent booking service, and we're not affiliated with any silver service taxi co-operative. Some customers look for a silver service style, fixed-fare alternative to a metered ride, and that is what we offer: the fare is agreed in writing before pickup, with no meter and no surge.
