Is this really a fixed price, or just an estimate?
It's fixed. When you book a ride with Sydney Fixed Fare Taxi, the fare is locked into your confirmation email before we dispatch a driver. Whether traffic is light or heavy, we charge the agreed amount. No meter is running. No surge is applied.
What vehicle will I get?
Our bookings are dispatched in late-model Lexus/Toyota premium vehicles where available, with SUV and people mover options for families, groups and extra luggage. The specific vehicle is assigned by dispatch based on passengers, luggage and availability — the fixed fare and the standard are the promise, not a specific year, colour or registration.
Where do your drivers come from?
We're an independent booking service. Our driver pool includes operators from every major Sydney taxi network — silver service, 13cabs, GM Cabs, Premier and independents — vetted to our own standard on cleanliness, presentation and professionalism. We're not affiliated with any single co-operative; the fare and the standard are what we promise.
What if there's traffic and the trip takes longer?
That's our problem, not yours. If your driver hits unexpected traffic — peak-hour congestion, an accident on the M5, a slow merge through the Eastern Distributor — the quoted fare is still the fare you pay. We absorb the time.
What's the deposit?
A small A$10 deposit via Stripe is what allocates your car. No deposit, no booking — but the deposit goes towards your final fare, it is not on top. The balance is settled at the end of the trip — by card on file, EFTPOS in the vehicle, or cash, your choice. The total you pay never exceeds the fixed fare quoted at booking.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancellation more than 60 minutes before pickup is free — your deposit is refunded in full. Inside 60 minutes the deposit is retained to cover the driver we've already dispatched on your behalf. The balance fare is never charged on a cancellation.
