Getting to Sydney Airport with a wheelchair should not come down to hoping the right vehicle turns up on the kerb. This page explains how a wheelchair accessible airport taxi booking works with Sydney Fixed Fare Taxi: you book in advance, you tell us about the wheelchair and who is travelling, and you see one fixed fare before you confirm. There is no meter running on the way to the terminal and no surge pricing if your flight leaves at a busy time. We are honest about the limits too. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are subject to availability, so the earlier you book, the better your chance of having one assigned. We are a booking service, not a patient-transport provider, and we do not make medical or clinical claims.

Your exact fixed fare

Price your trip in seconds.

Enter your pickup address, passengers and luggage to see the fixed fare. Wheelchair accessible bookings are sized and priced as a people mover class vehicle, so tell us at booking that a wheelchair is travelling. Prices are fixed for standard sedan bookings with normal luggage; SUV and people mover options may cost more depending on passengers, luggage and pickup requirements.

How a wheelchair accessible airport taxi booking works

Start with the booking form on this page. Enter where you are being picked up, choose the airport terminal, and set the number of passengers and bags. When one of the passengers travels in a wheelchair, say so at booking. If you would rather talk it through, call 02 5301 0062 and we will guide you through the same booking on the website. The fare is shown first, then you add your contact details, and we send a secure payment link once the booking is confirmed.

Please give us as much notice as you can. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are a limited part of the network we dispatch to, and same-day requests are the ones most likely to be unavailable. Booking well ahead gives dispatch time to find a suitable vehicle for your pickup time. If no accessible vehicle can be found for your slot, we will tell you as early as we can rather than leave you waiting on a footpath.

What we need to know when you book

The single most useful detail is the type of wheelchair. A folding manual chair, a larger manual chair and a powered chair all take up different amounts of space and suit different vehicles. Tell us which one is travelling, whether the passenger will stay in the chair or transfer to a seat, and how many other people are coming. Add the luggage count as well, because a wheelchair, several passengers and checked bags all compete for the same floor and boot space.

We cannot promise a specific vehicle or model. What we can do is pass your details to dispatch so the vehicle assigned is chosen with your chair and group in mind, and confirm what we have arranged before the day. If anything in your description does not match what turns up, contact us straight away on 02 5301 0062.

Pricing: sized as a people mover

Wheelchair accessible bookings are priced and assigned as a people-mover-class vehicle. That reflects the extra space needed, and it means the same fixed-fare rules apply as for any other booking: the fare is set before you confirm, tolls and the airport access fee are already included in the number, and it does not change if traffic is heavy. You will see the exact figure in the calculator above, so there is nothing to work out on the day.

Departures and arrivals at Sydney Airport

For a departure, pre-book a pickup that leaves comfortable time before check-in. Accessible travel tends to take longer at every step, from loading at the kerb to getting through the terminal, so build in a generous buffer. For an arrival, give us your flight number when you book. We track flights on airport bookings, so a late landing does not throw your pickup out. If you would like someone to meet you at arrivals, the optional meet and greet is described on our airport meet and greet page.

The same booking works for other Sydney destinations too, such as a cruise terminal or a regional address. Tell us where you are going and the calculator will size the trip.

Cabcharge, carers and companions

If your provider or organisation issues you a Cabcharge, we accept it where the booking is set up for it. Ask us when you book so we can confirm how it will work for your trip. We are not a registered NDIS provider and we do not lodge any claims on your behalf. Your care provider or you handle any claiming through your own funding arrangements. A carer or companion can travel with you; just include them in the passenger count so the vehicle is sized correctly. See our home-care and NDIS transport page for more on how Cabcharge bookings work.

What we do not do

We are not an ambulance, a non-emergency patient-transport service or a medical provider, and we do not provide medical care, lifting assistance or clinical support during the trip. Our drivers are professional and ID-visible, and will do their best to be helpful, but the service is a fixed-fare taxi transfer. If the passenger needs medical support en route, please arrange that separately before you book.

Frequently asked

The honest answers.

Can I book a wheelchair accessible taxi to Sydney Airport?

Yes, you can request one when you book. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are subject to availability, so book as far ahead as you can and tell us about the wheelchair and passengers.

Will I definitely get a wheelchair accessible vehicle?

We cannot promise a specific vehicle. Dispatch assigns the vehicle based on your booking details and availability, and we will let you know early if we cannot find a suitable one for your pickup time.

How is a wheelchair accessible booking priced?

It is priced and assigned as a people-mover-class vehicle, at a fixed fare shown before you confirm. There is no meter and no surge, and tolls and the airport access fee are included.

What should I tell you when I book?

The type of wheelchair, whether the passenger stays in the chair, how many people are travelling and how much luggage. That helps dispatch choose a suitable vehicle.

Are you a patient-transport or medical service?

No. We are a fixed-fare taxi booking service. We do not provide medical care or clinical support, and we are not an ambulance or non-emergency patient-transport provider.

Do you accept Cabcharge?

We accept the Cabcharge your provider or organisation issues where the booking is arranged for it. Ask when you book. We are not a registered NDIS provider and we do not lodge claims.

Are you a silver service taxi?

We are Sydney Fixed Fare Taxi, an independent booking service offering silver-service-style rides at a fixed fare. We are not affiliated with any silver service taxi co-operative.
